We are a small church where the emphasis is on the Word of God, discipleship, and what we call Body Life, or being a true family of likeminded Christians.

If you’re looking to get to know the character and nature of God through the teachings of the Bible, then this is a church for you. If you want to be loved, accepted, and nourished into the design God has planned for you, then this is a church for you.

OUR BELIEFS

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3

We base our philosophy of ministry on the teachings of the Word of God, the Bible. We believe that we ought to live by every word of God, and that the Bible provides answers to every question in life.

Below are the essentials of our Faith that unite us together in Him.  We seek to practice Unity in the essentials, Liberty in the non-essentials, and Charity (love) in all things.

Statement of Faith

We believe in:

The only true God, the almighty Creator of all things, existing eternally in three persons– Father, Son, and Holy Spirit–full of love and glory. (Deut. 6: 4; Gen. 1: 1-31; Matt. 28:19; Rev. 4-5)

The unique divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness and authority of the Bible which is God’s Word. (Mt. 4:4, Deut. 8:3, 2 Tim. 3: 16-17; 2 Peter 1: 20-21)

The value and dignity of all people: created in God’s image to live in love and holiness, but alienated from God and each other because of our sin and guilt, and justly subject to God’s wrath. (Gen.1 – 3; Rom. 3: 9-18)

Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine, who lived as a perfect example, who assumed the judgment due sinners by dying in our place, and who was bodily raised from the dead and ascended as Savior and Lord. (John 10:30; 14; 9, 10; Phil. 2: 5-8; Col. 2:9; Matt. 4; Luke 4; Heb. 4:15; 1 Pet. 3:18; 2 Cor. 5:21; Matt.28:6; Lk. 24:38, 39; Acts 1:9-11)

Justification by God’s grace to all who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. (Acts 3:19; 17:30,31; 2 Cor. 7:10; Rom.6:23; Titus 3:5; Eph.2:8, 9)

The indwelling presence and transforming power of the Holy Spirit, who gives to all believers a new life and a new calling to obedient service. (Eph. 1:13-14; Rom.8:9-11)

The unity of all believers in Jesus Christ, manifest in worshiping and witnessing churches making disciples throughout the world. (1 Cor.12:13; Eph. 4:3-6; Acts 2:41-47; Matt 28:18-20)

The existence of spiritual beings known as angels created to worship God and serve Him; that one – highest in rank – sinned through pride, thereby becoming Satan; that a great company of the angels followed him in his rebellion, becoming demons and are active as his agents in opposing God and His people, but have been defeated through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Luke 2:9-14; Hebrews 1:6-7, 14; 2:6-7; Revelation 5:11-14; 19:10; 22:9; Isa. 14:12–17; Ezek. 28:11–19; 1 Tim. 3:6; 2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6; Rev.12:1-6; Rom.16:20).

The victorious reign and future personal return of Jesus Christ, who will judge all people with justice and mercy, giving over the unrepentant to eternal condemnation, but receiving the redeemed into eternal life. (Matt. 24:30; Rev. 20:1-7; Matt. 25:31-46; Dan.12:2; John 5:29; Rev. 20:13-15; John 6:39; Rom. 8:10-11, 19-23)

To God be glory forever (Rom.11:36)
For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Our Pastor

John Collins has been our pastor since 2017. You can read his biography below, and hear his messages on the Audio page, as well as on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/windandwordlifehouse) and YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@windandwordlifehouse). We invite you to attend our services to meet him personally, and with him delve into the riches of God’s Word.
John was born in Pittsburgh, PA but raised in St. Petersburg, FL. He attended Azalea Middle School, Boca Ciega High School, and St. Pete Junior College majoring in music. He got gloriously saved in January of 1981 and received a calling to teaching the Bible and to missions, and later to pastoral ministry. He participated in short term missionary trips with Operation Mobilization, and in 1984 started Bible College studies. He graduated with a diploma in Theological Studies in 1989.  While working full time he volunteered with his church by teaching Bible studies in Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia, counseling, and leading outreaches. He married Eva, a native of Krakow, Poland, in 1992. Together they moved to Westfield, MA where they worked in a local church. From 2000 to 2003 they lived in Krakow where they assisted Eva’s home church; they then returned to the States and welcomed their son James, and a year later the family moved to St. Petersburg to be close to John’s family. John has traveled to twenty one countries, spreading the Gospel and strengthening  indigenous churches in, among others, Ghana, Venezuela, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, and Ukraine, and desires to share with others a love for missions and evangelism. John has been a member of Wind and Word, previously known as Living Hope Community Church of Pinellas, since 2011.  He really senses that Wind and Word Life House has a tremendous spirit of love, community, and commitment to reaching out to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world. He wants to share the riches of God’s grace, His eternal purpose, and the wisdom and understanding of God’s Word with all “who have ears to hear” (Revelation 2:7, 11).
